A Writing About the Car Parade

Gabe shared his journal writing.  As I was driving I saw him, along with a bunch of you!  Thank you for cheering us on. 🙂

It was 9:00 in the morning and we were getting our snow stuff on. We walked to the end of the road and watched the teachers ride in their cars. It took a little bit for the teachers to get to my road and then we cheered! It was fun to watch the teachers pass.

Another Third Grader Learning!

Kai researched Pangolins!  Here is what he learned:

My favorite animal is the pangolin for many reasons for instance they are a very endangered. I also think the keratin scales are cool because they look like over grown fingernails. A pangolin also has a tongue that is one and a half feet long. I think it is cute that a baby rides on its mothers back. Some pangolins have prehensile tail for grabbing on to trees and some do not. Pangolins can be found in Africa, India, China and parts of Malaysia. But people are killing them for medicine that are not proven of. So that is why I like pangolins.

Monday News

I LOVED seeing a bunch of you outside waving and cheering at the parade.  My girls were with me and heard all about each and everyone of you!!  Thank you for being so awesome!

So… what can you do today?  Read!  Here a fun reading website (and rumor has it that all books are currently free!).  I have never used this before, but have heard really great things.  Click on the link (look to the left, under reading: Epic Books) and use the class code:

Class code: mqt7327

Other things to do:

  1. Finish your Fiction Story
  2. Write a new story about a time you were in or saw a parade  (it can be fiction or a small moment).  Send it to me through email and I’ll post it!
  3. It’s Monday – so multiplication!!  Use xtramath or study island.
  4. Create a list of your own spelling words.  Think of 10 – 15 words you want to learn.  Write them down and learn them through out the week.  Then test yourself!
  5. Find the Area and Perimeter of a room in your house!  Make sure it is a rectangle!!  And… good luck!

Cheers to our xtramath champions for last week!  They did xtramath at LEAST 3 times per the week:

  1. Avery
  2. Aiden
  3. Chloe
  4. Sophia R
  5. Tenley

Keep up the great work!

Okay…. here it is again, I MISS YOU!!!  Send me pictures and emails.  Let me know what you’re up to!  Here is what the VanderWall family is up to…. Simon is painting his room!
